PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood cutting method whose operation is easy and by which anyone can execute work. SOLUTION: In the cutting method, cutting procedures corresponding to the specifications of wood are previously recorded in floppy disks 4-1, 4-2,..., 4-n for respective specifications for obtaining the wood of various specifications, whose sizes of length, height and width differ and whose cutting shape and whose size, depth and part of the hole differ. An operator loads the floppy disk 4-i of the desired specification on a controller 3 at the time of cutting work. The controller 3 drives the cutting tool of a precutting device 2 and cuts wood in accordance with a procedure recorded in the floppy disk 4-i.
