PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a electrophotographic photoreceptor small in fluctuation of photoreceptor characteristics due to practical successive uses for a long time and free of peeling of a surface film. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic photoreceptor is a laminate electrophotographic organic photoreceptor having a charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer on a conductive substrate, and the charge generating layer contains a polyvinyl acetal resin having an acetal degree of >=50 mol%, thus permitting the obtained charge generating layer to be improved in close contact between the organic film and an underlayer and to prevent occurrence of peeling of the films and to stabilize photoreceptor characteristics even in the case of practical successive uses.
