PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure and improve controllability by providing an electric motor and a motion direction converting mechanism for converting rotation of the electric motor into axial motion and releasing a clutch by axial force around an input shaft in a concentric circular shape. SOLUTION: A clutch release device 6 is mainly constituted of a motor 31 and a motion direction converting mechanism 32. The motion direction converting mechanism 32 converts rotation of the motor 31 into axial motion and releases pressing load of a clutch cover assembly by the axial force. The motor 31 is constituted of a motor case 38, a stator 35 fixed to the motor case 38 and a rotatable rotor 36 on the inside of the stator 35. Both of the stator 35 and the rotor 36 are annular and concentric. Because the clutch release device 6 is constituted by only a combination of the motor 31 and the motion direction converting mechanism 32, the number of parts items is reduced, the structure is simplified and space as whole is reduced.
