PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk carrier mechanism capable of lowering a mechanism height, and shortening the length of a depth. SOLUTION: This disk carrier mechanism 90 is provided with a flexible rack 73, a pinion 72 for driving this rack 73, and a guiding groove 75 for guiding the movement of the rack 73. The guiding groove is bent in the midway, and has a bent part 75a. By employing such a rack and pinion system for the disk carrier mechanism, a mechanism height is reduced. Also, since the guiding groove 75 for guiding the movement of the rack 73 has the bent part 75a, the rack 73 is bent in the middle of moving path, and the depth length of the mechanism is also reduced.
