PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately reproduce a band-split analog image and also to grasp the outline of the reproduced image in an early stage of reproduction. SOLUTION: An image to be transmitted (code a) undergoes a band splitting operation via an orthogonal mirror image filter at a sub-band coding part 1 and is split into the split images of low and high band components and a split image of only a color component. A data processing part 2 adds a header to the head position of each of those split images to show a head position respectively. Then the split images are modulated at a modulation part 3 and transmitted. At the receiving side, every split image is positioned by referring to its header and then reproduced for synthesizing the split images. |
