PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device which is shaped thinner, is highly reliable, multifunctional and low in cost and an electronic appliance provided with the input device. SOLUTION: An input device is provided with a semiconductor element 30 having the sensor parts 50 to 54 of plural resistors and the common part 55 of the resistors on a semiconductor wafer 31 through an insulated layer and obtaining the detection output of the living body of a user from the part 50 to 54 to which a part of the living body approaches at the time of making part of the living body approach at least one of the parts 50 to 54 among the parts 50 to 54 of the plural resistors, a control part for setting an input mode by the detection output of the living body from the part 50 to 54 of the element 30, and a casing 20 for holding the element 30 so as to expose the parts 50 to 54 of the element 30.
