PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a reed valve chamber compact, make external appearance thereof look good, and facilitate maintenance work by configuring the reed valve chamber integrally with an upper wall of a cylinder head cover provided between a pair of rocker shafts disposed in parallel with a camshaft. SOLUTION: A reed valve chamber 11 is provided on an upper wall 1a between a pair of rocker shafts 7, that is, on an central upper portion of a cylinder head cover 1. The reed valve chamber 11 is formed by covering a recess on an upper face of the upper wall 1a by means of a lid member. The lid member is provided, at the upper end, with a tubular boss 11a projecting laterally at a right angle with respect to a camshaft 5 and the rocker shaft 7. A hose 14 at one end is connected with the tubular boss 11a and with an air cleaner 33 at the other end. Also, integrality into a cylinder head cover 1 enables a reed valve device to be installed on an exhaust port easily only by assembling the head cover 1 to a cylinder head 2, thereby maintenability and assemblability are improved.
