PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an information recording and reproducing device, which optically records and reproduces information on an optical disk having its test write areas at multiple positions, to accurately record and reproduce information by suitably matching recording power with even a combination of an arbitrary optical disk and the recording and reproducing device without adding any constitution. SOLUTION: For test writing, optimum recording power values Pw1 and Pw2 of test write areas are found, corresponding to amplitudes A1 and A2 of the reproduced signal of a preformat part, such as tracking error signals and when actual recording is carried out, corresponding optimum recording power Pw is calculated through interpolation from the amplitude A of the tracking error signal at a jump to a desirable track. |
