The sunroof has at least 2 rigid sunroof sections (10,11) fitting over a sunroof opening (12) in an automobile roof (13), operated by a setting device for pivot movement into a ventilation position or sliding movement into an open sunroof position. The sunroof opening is provided on the inside with front and rear sliding roof panels (14,15) operated via a sliding mechanism, with a ventilation gap (16,17) provided infront of each roof panel when the sunroof panels are in the ventilation position.
