Casting resins containing (A) solid unsaturated polyester(s) and (B) copolymerisable oligomeric and/or polymeric crosslinker(s) with at least one terminal and/or lateral propenyl, isopropenyl and/or (meth)acrylate ester group on the main oligomer or polymer chain. Independent claims are also included for (a) a process for the melt-impregnation or -coating or components, absorbent materials or optionally primed substrates by melting the resin as above, applying the melt onto and/or into the substrate and hardening the melt with heat and/or actinic radiation; (b) components, especially electronic components, flat insulating materials based on absorbent materials and optionally primed substrates with casting resin hardened as above.
