The shutoff valve (3) is operated by electrical or thermal energy produced or stored in the heater (5) and is arranged in the water container feedline (6) and controlled by the solar collector (1) temperature. In a variant, the valve (3) is sited in the offtake line (7) in which case an additional shutoff valve is placed in the feed line (6) and controlled by the temperature of the hot water in the container (2). It is also possible for the shutoff valve (3) in the feedline to be controlled by the air temperature in the collector (1).
