Remedies for diseases in which angiogenesis participates having been developed by studying the effect of a compound having a chymase inhibitory effect on angiogenesis. Because of showing an effect of inhibiting angiogenesis, the compound having a chymase inhibitory effect is expected as a preventive or a remedy for diseases in which angiogenesis participates, in particular, diseases associated with intraocular angiogenesis such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal phlebemphraxis, premature infant retinopathy and angiogenic glaucoma.
