METHOD FOR PRINTER DRIVER, UPDATE MANAGEMENT, PRINTER, AND COMPUTER NETWORK SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update printer drivers on computers which share a printer immediately without any human intervention. SOLUTION: The printer 105 once receiving electronic mail of notice of printer driver update form a vendor side obtains the latest printer driver from a vendor-side computer 108 and saves it together with its management information; when a print request is received from computers 101 to 104, it is checked whether or not the printer driver that the computer is using is the latest by referring to the saved information for management and when not, the saved latest printer driver is distributed to the computer to update its printer driver.
