The invention relates to a device for separating particles out of a fluid in which separation occurs using substantially rotationally symmetrical filter elements capable of allowing particle-free fluid to pass there through. Separated particles are collected outside the filter. The filter element comprises an inner and an outer filter element which are both essentially rotationally symmetric and located concentric to each other. Both filter elements are rotationally mounted and have a plurality of openings located on the outer periphery thereof.
