The invention concerns data media (such as words, neucleotide sequences in nucleic acids, protein amino acid sequences, in general: linear polymers) are sequences corresponding each time to a specific alphabet. The degree of identity, of difference and of similitude of such sequences is measured with fuzzy logic.
