The chair (16,18) has a seating surface (7,7') between 2 front legs (2,2'), with a free space (9,9') provided between each side edge (8,8') of the seating surface and each front leg, corresponding to the cross-sectional surface of the front leg below the seating surface. The 2 front legs are coupled together via a transverse connection strut (6,6'), with one end (6a,6a') of the latter angled upwards and its other end (6b,6b') angled downwards, for allowing identical chairs to be linked together side-by-side.
