The floor suction unit has a housing provided with a suction channel and a connection for a suction pipe, coupled directly or via a suction hose to the suction fan of the vacuum cleaner, with the housing of the floor suction unit provided with at least one operating element and/or display element for the suction fan. The latter operating and/or display element is coupled to a peripheral interface of the vacuum cleaner fan/motor unit via an electrical lead connection or a data transmission link.
