The invention provides formulations for controlling insects/pests in small ruminants, such as camellids, sheep, and goats, the formulations comprising an effective amount of a spinosyn, or an analogue or derivative thereof, together with an acceptable carrier or diluent, and methods of controlling these insect pests comprising topically applying these formulations to a ruminant.
