The invention relates to an identification card (1) that is produced by injection moulding. The inventive card comprises at least one field (3, 4) which is spatially defined on the identification card by means of an elevated embossing technique for marking the identification card. At least one partial area of the field (3, 4) is provided with a projection that protrudes over the surface level of the identification card in such a way that the entire width of the identification card is tremendously greater in the elevated partial area than the width of the remaining areas pertaining to the identification card. The invention also relates to a method for producing the inventive identification card. Additional electronic components (10) can be arranged in the thicker partial areas of said cards by virtue of said inventive embodiment of the identification card and in spite of the low width of said identification cards. The inventive method for producing the aforementioned inventive identification card is characterised in that the injection mould is provided, whereby one half of the injection mould is provided with a recess for forming the projection, the synthetic material is subsequently injected and the identification card body is then removed from the mould. |
