An organic domain/inorganic domain composite material which has inorganic domains and organic domains comprising a water-soluble or water-dispersible organic polymer having functional groups, characterized in that the organic polymer and the inorganic domains form ionic crosslink structures, that the inorganic domains each comprises inorganic bridges each individually comprising at least one silicon atom, at least two oxygen atoms, and at least two divalent metal atoms, and that the weight ratio of the organic domains to the inorganic domains is 1.0 or higher.
