CASTING OF PRECIOUS METALS

A method of making a mould (7a, 7b) for casting articles particularly but not exclusively of precious metals includes the step of making a pattern (1) for the article using known techniques, making a master mould (2a, 2b) from the pattern, making a master pattern (4a, 4b) from a master mould, and making a production mould (7a, 7b) from the master pattern. The invention extends to the making of the article in which the article is cast using the production mould with method of casting being preferably vacuum and/or spin casting.
