PURPOSE: A heat pump type air conditioner is provided to keep heating calorie satisfactory and to reduce maintenance cost when temperature of air is low. CONSTITUTION: A first heat exchanger(13) is installed on a duct(7) between an indoor heat exchanger(3) and a pressure reducer for heating(5). A second heat exchanger(14) is installed on a duct(9) between an outdoor heat exchanger(6) and a compressor(1), installed above the first heat exchanger, so that the first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger form closed circuit. The first and the second heat exchangers are filled with working fluid. Working fluid is heated by refrigerant fluid, condensed and liquefied in the indoor heat exchanger, to promote vaporization of refrigerant gas flowing into the compressor.
