Production of bituminous mixed material, especially asphalt comprises pre-mixing minerals with addition of pressed bodies made of cellulose fiber and Fischer-Tropsch paraffin additives, wet mixing with addition of binder such as bitumen, and post-mixing. The cellulose fiber additives are already distributed with the Fischer-Tropsch paraffin in the mineral mixture. The starting bitumen in the mixed material experiences a reduction in the needle penetration from at least two sorts of bitumen and the low temperature behavior remains practically unchanged. The tensile strength as a measure of the low temperature stability of the bitumen in the mixed material is improved by 400 KPa. The penetration index of the bitumen is raised by -0.8 to +6.1. The pre-, wet- and post-mixing times are each 15 seconds and the mixing temperature is 140-160 deg C. An Independent claim is also included for a pressed body comprising cellulose fibers or other organic raw fibers such as paper, jute, hemp, sisal, flax, textile or wood fibers; and Fischer-Tropsch paraffin which adhere the fibers to form pellets. |
