The automobile dynamo (10) has a dynamo housing (28) enclosing a stator (32) and a rotor (34) mounted on a rotor shaft (22) which is driven by the automobile engine (16) and fitted with a fan wheel (38). The dynamo housing has a suction line connection (40) for connection with the cooling line of an air-cooled heat exchanger (44) for cooling the charging air for the engine, or for an air-conditioning unit.
