This novel method seals and/or adheres together the surfaces of two components being joined. One or more joint surfaces are grooved, and include an opening for filling. The components are placed together, their joint surfaces opposing, in the desired orientation. A fluid sealant or adhesive is introduced into the groove(s), until they become completely filled. Preferably the groove(s) have deaeration opening(s). Sealant is injected under pressure. A controlled pressure reduction is exerted at the deaeration opening. The sealant and/or components are tempered before injection. Filling takes place, controlling the dosed quantity. This may be achieved by use of a nozzle with piezoresistive pressure sensor. Filling terminates, once sufficient has been injected to fill the total groove volume. It may be terminated when a sensor detects filling, at the deaeration outlet. The sealant mass used, has a viscosity between 50,000 and 100,000 mPa/s. The sealant or adhesive has a viscous or thixotropic consistency. Hardening takes place anaerobically. |
