Calcium hydroxide having an average secondary particle diameter at a cumulative percentage of 50 % by number in a particle size distribution of 2.0 mu m or less and a BET specific surface area of from 7 to 20 m<2>/g and which is surface-treated with from 0.1 to 10 % by weight of an anionic surfactant, its production process and its use in a resin composition.
