The invention relates to a domestic appliance 1 for treating laundry, in particular a washing machine, having a support structure 2, an outer tub 5 which is suspended on the support structure 2 and in which a laundry drum is rotatably arranged, and at least one measuring device 7 for detecting a position of the outer tub 5 relative to the support structure 2. The aim of the invention is to provide the ability to detect the position of an outer tub 5 of a domestic appliance 1 for treating laundry relative to a support structure 2 of the domestic appliance 1 with as little wear as possible, as space-saving as possible, and as inexpensively as possible. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the measuring device 7 has at least one spring element 4, 10, which is formed in an at least partly electrically conductive manner and via which the outer tub 5 is mechanically connected to the support structure 2, and at least one electronic unit 9, 12, which is electrically connected to the spring element 4, 10 and which is designed to ascertain an inductance of the spring element 4, 10. |
