The method involves heating a starting film web (2) to a partly molten state by a heating roller (6) i.e. non-adhesively coated steel roller. A low-melting polymer component i.e. polyethylene, of a thermoplastic polymer material of the web is provided in a molten liquid state, and a high-melting polymer component i.e. polypropylene, is not provided in the molten liquid state in the partly molten state. The web is cooled by passing the partly molten film web through a cooled roller nip. A film is stretched between the roller and the nip. The produced film is laminated with a non-woven fabric.
