Collapsable bedsteads; collapsable seats.-In a piece of collapsable furniture or the like, such as a chair, table, bed, bath or tent, of the kind comprising parallel bars kept apart and supported by collapsable X-legs, each X-leg is characterised in that one of the two co-planar members A, B is reduced in thickness and cranked in the common plane of the two members at the point of intersection, so that the ends 13, 15 of said member are off-set but parallel to one another, and the other member has a slot 17, parallel with its axis, for the reception of the cranked portion of the first-mentioned member. The cranked portion is preferably formed as a flat metal strip 14. In chairs constructed according to this invention, hinged connections 30, or sliding connections 31, 32 may be provided between the X-legs and the uprights 28.
