PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a projection of a paper feed cassettes irrespective of the size of paper. SOLUTION: A laser printer 1 has a paper feed cassette 19 removably loaded into a printer body 3. The paper feed cassette 19 has a forward cassette section 55 and a backward cassette section 53 divided in two in the inserting direction and interconnected for relative pivotal movement. The printer body 3 has a guide member 63 for guiding the loaded forward cassette section 55 upward. When the paper feed cassette 19 is loaded into the printer body 3, the forward cassette section 55 is guided by the guide member 63 or is moved along as it is pivoted upward.
