PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a joint mortar having good spreadability, easy fillability into a joint, and excellent water repellency and anti-mold properties by adding a joint additive comprising a silane compound and/or a silicone compound to a mortar material, further adding an antimold to the mixture, and kneading the resulting mixture. SOLUTION: The joint mortar is obtained by adding 0.05-4 wt.% joint additive comprising a silane compound and/or a silicone compound to a mortar material comprising 30-60 pts.wt. cement, 30-60 pts.wt. fine aggregate, 0.1-0.5 pt.wt. water reducing agent, 0.1-0.5 pt.wt. water retentive, and 15-30 pts.wt. water, optionally adding an antimold to the mixture, and kneading the resulting mixture. The joint mortar bas good flowability, so that it is desirable for filling into a joint clearance by, especially, jointing with a trowel. Because of the ability of the added joint additive to impart water repellency, the mortar can give a joint made proof against water penetration and therefore made proof against staining and the elusion of the antimold.
