PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-purpose dwelling system. SOLUTION: The multi-purpose building contains a mother building 2 with the common use space of users, one or more skeletons 4 and a plurality of unit houses 3 as private spaces, and the unit houses 3 are connected detachably to the whole or a part of each facility of the electricity, communication, information, a gas, water supply and drainage and sanitary of the mother building 2 mutually. Or the multi-purpose building has a site 1, a mother facility with an office line system and/or a life line system for users built on the site 1 and the common use space for the users and a plurality of unit facilities as private spaces for the users detachably connected to the mother facility, and the building is constituted in such a manner that the users use the common use space and the unit facilities as office spaces and/or life spaces while being able to accept the offer of office line service and/or life line service from the mother facility.
