PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the leakage of a powder from a device and to improve the yield and the performance of a sintered body by disposing a sheet capable of preventing the powder leakage and being made of a carbide fiber material between a sample to be filled in the inside of a mold and at least one of a couple of pressing punches for pressurizing the powder. SOLUTION: A hot press device is equipped with a tubular mold and a couple of pressing punches which are provided at the both ends of the inside of the mold and able to pressurize a sample to be filled in the inside of the mold. A preferable sheet for preventing the leakage of the powder has a density of 0.01 to 0.4 g/cm3 and is made of carbon felt, carbon cross, carbon paper or a laminated body thereof. In the case when the sheets for preventing the powder leakage are interposed between the sample and the pressing punches and when the sample is pressed by the pressing punches, the sheets for preventing the powder leakage are crushed in some degree and expanded and further pressed and fixed on the inner wall of the mold, thereby the leakage of the powder is prevented. This sheet is suitable for producing a silicon carbide sintered body. |
