PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice ball which is matched and wound with laver sheets and has a high quality and a good texture. SOLUTION: This rice ball obtained by matching and winding both the upper and lower surfaces of a circular rice ball with a pair of two rectangular laver sheets is prepared by matching the back surfaces 6c of two rectangular laver sheets 6 and 6a each having a cut inclined side portion at a corner to both the upper and lower surfaces 6c of the circular rice ball a in a state mutually cross-linked at an angle of about 45 degree and then covering the side surface of the circular rice ball a with the angular side portions 32 and the inclined side portions 19 of the laver sheets 6 and 6a.
