PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding flux cored wire having the stable performance of deposited metal and workability of welding without lowering the value of its impact resistance. SOLUTION: In the welding flux cored wire in which a flux is filled up in a metallic shell, the flux contains a metal magnesium powder, the total quantity of nitrogen of which is 0.001-0.015 wt.% per the total weight of the metal magnesium, of 0.5-5.00 wt.% per the total weight of the flux. The content of the metal magnesium powder having the grain size of <=10μm in the total metal magnesium powder is <=10 wt.% and the content of the metal magnesium powder having the grain size of >=300μm is <=1 wt.% per the total weight.
