PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new solubilizer satisfying safety, stability, usability and solubilizing ability all together, and to obtain a cosmetic formulated with the solubilizer. SOLUTION: This solubilizer is such one as to contain sucrose lauric acid esters wherein the monoester content thereof is >=75%, and the other objective cosmetic is such one as to be formulated with the solubilizer. The sucrose lauric acid ester(s) is ester(s) of lauric acid as a higher fatty acid and sucrose, being well known as mono, di, triester or their mixture. The solubilizer is preferably such as to be >=75 wt.% in the content of a highly hydrophilic monoester, e.g. of surfhope C-1216L (R) (made by Mitsubishi-kagaku Foods Corp.).
