PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten iron refining method, by which the molten iron dephosphorization can efficiently be executed by using flux containing no F source when the pre-dephosphorizing treatment of the molten iron is executed. SOLUTION: This method is the one for using the range obtd. in such a high dephosphorizing efficiency as not to usually be expected, related to a phosphorus concn. and a silicon concn. in the molten iron to be subjected to the dephosphorizing treatment. In the molten iron refining method for executing the dephosphorizing treatment as the pre-treatment of the molten iron by adding the flux containing no F source and essentially of CaO into the molten iron and supplying gaseous oxygen and/or solid oxygen source as the oxygen source, the dephosphorizing treatment is executed to the molten iron having >=0.15 wt.% phosphorus concn. and <=0.05 wt.% silicon concn. |
