PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To put a tucker through the working holes by providing a stopper on the depth of a mounting space, providing the working holes before the stopper in a foundation member respectively, communicating the mounting space with an outside space through the working hole, and pressing a tatami mat surface into the mounting space. SOLUTION: The width(w) of the upper and lower directions of a mounting space S is set substantially the same as the width at the time when a tatami mat surface 50 is overlapped on the surface and rear face of a tatami mat floor 60. Working holes 24 are formed in the form of slits along a side plate 21, and a mounting space S communicates with atmosphere. At first, notches are set on the edge part of a tatami mat surface 50, folding is facilitated, and after the edge part of the upper and lower directions in the edge part is softened, an adhesive is applied on the rear side of the edge part. A part folded along the edge part of the tatami mat floor 60 is made an upper side, and fitted and inserted until the edge collides with a front side plate 21 in the guide space G, the mounting space S in its turn of an endless tatami mat surface mounting device. The edge part of the tatami mat surface 50 is fixed on the tatami mat floor 60 by a tucker.
