PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire hydrant that is of a system to confirm checking of ball-valve type hydrant with upward spout of pressured water, also can substantially prevent spouting stream from directly hitting face of the operator and establish safety during check work. SOLUTION: In the fire hydrant with a ball valve, at least a portion of the outlet mouth of a ball valve proper 2 of the ball valve is radially expanded so as to become larger than the inlet mouth, and so designed as to let the outlet mouth open prior to the inlet mouth in the early time of rotating operation of the ball valve proper 2 from full close toward full open.
