PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably rotationally drive a stepping motor regardless of a low rotation speed zone/a high rotation speed zone. SOLUTION: To a data setting circuit 14, as control data, the Information of the rotation speed of the stepping motor 10, the timing of rotation start/end, a rotating direction and an excitation from is inputted. In a pulse signal generation circuit 38, in the case that the control data are the ones for instructing rotation by 2-phase excitation, the pulse signal generation circuit 38A is made to function to generate drive control signals for the 2-phase excitation. In the case that the control data are the ones for instructing the rotation by 1-2-phase excitation, the pulse signal generation circuit 38B is made to function to generate the drive control signals for the 2-phase excitation. Based on the drive control signals, the stepping motor 10 is rotationally driven.
