PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the normal operation of a load detection device, in a rope type elevator provided with a car sheave on the lower part of the car of single floor structure. SOLUTION: This elevator is constituted by providing a car sheave 17 on the lower part of the car 1 with a single floor structure. A car sheave support stand 5 is installed on the lower side of the lower beam 3 of the car 1 through a vibration prevention rubber 4. A load detection device 6 detecting the loaded load of the car 1 by detecting the bending of the vibration prevention rubber 4 and is provided. One end of a balance chain 7 is installed on the car sheave support stand 5 by a chain installation device 8.
