PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the cotton dust or the like occurring in yarn spinning with the drafting unit and recover the cotton dust or the like effectively. SOLUTION: This drafting unit is equipped with the center duct D1 covering the drafting part 2 equipped with a plurality of bottom rollers 7a-7c, the top rollers 8a-8c arranged so that they may oppose to individual bottom rollers, the upstream duct DU covering the fiber feeder 3 arranged on the upstream side of the drafting part 2 and the downstream duct DL covering the gatherer 4, trumpet 5, and calendering rollers 6a-6b arranged on the downstream side of the drafting part 2. The sucking inlet 48 for recovering cotton dust is arranged near the outlet of the downstream duct DL so that the sucking air flow from the sucking origin may attain to the sucking opening 48. The main cover 9 for the drafting unit constitutes the upper plate 9a of individual ducts D1, DU, DL.
