PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for capable of producing a polybenzazole fiber in a good efficiency by controlling the loading state of the fiber yarn on a conveyer for stabilizing the taking out property of the fiber yarn. SOLUTION: This method for producing a polybenzazole fiber yarn 3 by spinning a polybenzazole dope obtained by dissolving the polybenzazole with a solvent, and passing through each of the processes of extracting, washing, drying and winding the fiber yarn, is characterized by conveying the fiber yarn 3 on a conveyer in the washing and drying processes, shaking off the fiber yarn 3 as zigzag state on the conveyer in a crossing direction toward the transferring direction of the conveyer in translating from the extracting process to the washing process and operating while preventing the overlap of outbound and inbound passages at the turning part of the zigzag passage.
