PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starting device capable of energizing a traveling toy for a long distance without enlarging a traveling toy device or reforming the strength or structure of an energization means. SOLUTION: This traveling toy starting device comprises a starting member 26, a starting lever 34, a stopping member 47, and a stopping lever 51. A transmitting member 38 is partly positioned inside a first passage 29 when the starting member 26 is at a starting position for transmitting motion of the starting member 26 to the stopping member 47. In actuation, an operation handle 12 is operated, and the starting member 26 pushes the transmitting member 38 out of the first passage to move to a stopping position, so the starting lever 34 energizes a traveling toy. The stopping lever 51 is retracted to the underside of a track before the starting member 26 reaches the position of the stopping lever 51.
