PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit autoclave sterilization by means of a simple arrangement without damaging a flexible covering on a curved part and to perform detection of leaks through a simple procedure. SOLUTION: This endoscope apparatus 1 is provided with first and second ventilating bases 10, 30 on a connector body 8. A check valve provided at the first ventilating base 10 works to allow gas to pass from the inside of an endoscope to the outside when the internal pressure of the endoscope is higher than external pressure, and to prevent the gas from passing from the outside to the inside when the external pressure is higher than the internal pressure of the endoscope. When a leakage detecting device is attached to the second ventilating base 30 during inspection for leaks, a second gear provided at a detecting base is rotated to bring the first gear of the first ventilating base 10 into mesh therewith to rotate a rotor, this rotation causing a cam receiving pin to slide to the position of a cam groove to automatically fix the check valve in place. |
