PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided a singularized nonwoven cover transition layer allowing fluid quick permeation therethrough with minimized re-wetting. SOLUTION: This singularized nonwoven cover transition layer includes a mixture of thermoplastic fibers 30, 31 and an absorbent fiber 32. In this case, the absorbent fiber 32 is present in a sufficient amount to efficiently draw in fluid from the outer surface of the singularized cover transition layer 10 without competing with an absorbent core. Therefore, the fluid quickly permeates and re-wetting is minimized.
