PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To peel and remove dust, etc. in the short period of time by jetting a washing liquid containing a polishing material together with compressed air to the surface of a belt and striking the polishing material against the dust, etc. sticking to the surface of the belt. SOLUTION: A washing device 3, of which a nozzle 3a of the width nearly equal to the width of the belt 1 is directed downward is disposed right above an upwardly facing rotation side of the rear end of the belt 1 by deviating its center facing the vertical direction thereof nearer the outer peripheral part side than the center of a roller 2. The compressed air is supplied from an upper supply pipe 4 to the washing device 3 and the water or aqueous detergent containing the polishing material from a lower supply pipe 4 to the washing device, respectively. These washing liquids 5 are jetted at a high velocity from the nozzle 3a at the bottom end to the surface of the belt 1 in the state that the belt is rotationally run at a specified speed. As a result, the dust, etc. may be rapidly peeled and removed.
