OIL AND FAT-CONTAINING SUSTAINED RELEASE SUPPOSITORY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sustained release suppository capable of exhibiting the objective sustained release properties while scarcely changing the melting point of an oily base by including a drug, the oily base and a specific oil and fat ingredient. SOLUTION: This sustained release suppository is obtained by including (A) a drug which is preferably morphine hydrochloride or morphine sulfate, (B) an oily base which is a mixture or the like of a higher fatty acid ester triglyceride/diglyceride/monoglyceride and (C) a high-melting oil and fat ingredient scarcely changing the melting point of the ingredient B (preferably a hardened castor oil or beeswax). When the ingredient C is the hardened castor oil, the amount thereof contained is preferably about 2-10 wt.%. When the ingredient C is the beeswax, the amount thereof contained is preferably about 10-20 wt.%. The content of the ingredient A is preferably about 2-5 wt.%.
