PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive rear window light shielding device capable of shielding a rear window from light automatically only when required and allowing its post-installation. SOLUTION: When a rear window 3 is shielded from light, a main light shielding member 5 is moved backward by a shielding member travel mechanism 17 to shield a central part 3M of the rear window 3 from light, and two sub- shielding members 7L, 7R are turned by a turn travel mechanism 37 to shield left and right curved face parts 3L, 3R of the rear window 3 from light. The main shielding member 5 consists of two or more substantially rectangular flexible members, and at least one plate or curtain among them has a shielding function. Moreover, the sub-shielding members 7L, 7R have at least one plate or curtain having a shielding function, and a shielding face capable of being curved is supported by a bent arm part 35 and is stored between a plurality of main shielding members 5 by the turn travel mechanism.
