PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of efficiently dissolving powdery silicon. SOLUTION: In a method for dissolving powdery silicon 6 in molten silicon by feeding the powdery silicon 6 into a crucible 1 in which a molten silicon raw material is present, the powdery silicon 6 is dipped into the molten silicon 3 and dissolved by putting a rod-like silicon 7 in and pulling it out from the molten silicon 3 after feeding the powdery silicon 6 on the molten silicon 3, or the powdery silicon 6 is dipped into the molten silicon 3 and dissolved by stirring the molten silicon 3 by a rod-like silicon 7 after feeding the powdery silicon 6 on the molten silicon 3.
